The National Police's Professional and Security Division (Propam) continued the trial of the Police Code of Ethics Commission (KKEP) against one of the alleged violators with the initials M, related to the alleged extortion case against Malaysian citizens during the 2024 Djakarta Warehouse Project (DWP) event.

The previous KKEP trial took place on Tuesday (31/12/2024), but was postponed due to limited time. The trial continued today, Thursday, January 2.

"The implementation of the ethics trial is still ongoing and continues today," said Karo Penmas, Police Public Relations Division, Brigadier General Trunoyudo Wisnu Andiko, Thursday, January 2.

So far, two members of the National Police have undergone a KKEP trial, namely Kombes Donald P. Simanjuntak and another member with the initials Y. Both were found guilty in this case and sentenced to dishonorable dismissal (PTDH).

"The National Police Professional Code of Ethics Commission Council has imposed sanctions in the form of Dismissal with Disrespect for the two alleged violators," said Trunoyudo.

Trunoyudo emphasized that the entire ethics trial process was carried out transparently, involving the National Police Commission (Kompolnas) as the external supervisor of the National Police.

"In this trial, we ensure progressivity, continuity, and monitoring with external parties such as Kompolnas," he said. The involvement of external supervisors shows the Police's commitment to taking firm action against member violations in a responsive, procedural, and transparent manner.

"This is a manifestation of the seriousness of the Police to enforce the rules and build public trust," said Trunoyudo.

Previously, Kompolnas Commissioner Choirul Anam revealed that three members of the National Police faced an ethics trial related to allegations of extortion against dozens of Malaysian citizens during the 2024 DWP event.

One of those involved was Kombes Donald P. Simanjuntak, Director of Drug Investigation of the Metro Jaya Police, who had been removed from his position based on telegram number ST/2276/XI/KEP./2024.

"The parties being examined are the Director of Drugs, Sub-Directorate, and one other member," said Anam.

The removal of Kombes Donald is part of the Police's firm steps to thoroughly investigate this case, in line with the commitment to create a more professional, transparent, and accountable Police.
