From Luxury Cars, Hotels To Land, The Value Of Confiscated Assets In Asabri Corruption Case Reaches Rp10.5 Trillion

JAKARTA - Investigating Director of Junior Attorney for Specific Crimes (Dirdik Jampidsus) Attorney General's Office, Febrie Adriansyah, stated that the temporary value of the confiscated assets of the 9 suspects in the PT Asabri corruption case reached Rp10.5 trillion.

"Now it's Rp10.5 trillion," said Febrie as quoted by Antara, Thursday, April 15.

According to Febrie, this value is still a temporary estimate of the assets of the suspected PT Asabri corruption suspects, in the form of mines, land, buildings, jewelry, checks, ships, and luxury vehicles.

In this case, AGO investigators estimated the value of state financial losses to be Rp23.73 trillion. The state losses, in this case, were far greater than in the Jiwasraya case.

The Attorney General's Office Jampidsus named nine suspects in the investigation of a suspected corruption case in the management of finance and investment funds by PT Asuransi Angkatan Bersenjata Republik Indonesia (Asabri).

The nine suspects are the Director of PT Asabri for the period 2011 to March 2016, Mayjen Purn. Adam Rachmat Damiri, President Director of PT Asabri for the period March 2016 July 2020 Lieutenant General Purn. Sonny Widjaja, Finance Director of PT Asabri for the period of October 2008 June 2014 Bachtiar Effendi, and Director of PT Asabri for the period 2013-2014 and 2015-2019 Hari Setiono.

Next, Head of Investment Division of PT Asabri July 2012-January 2017 Ilham W. Siregar, Managing Director of PT Prima Network Lukman Purnomosidi, and Director of PT Jakarta Emiten Investor Relations Jimmy Sutopo, Managing Director of PT Hanson International Tbk. Benny Tjokrosaputro, and Commissioner of PT Trada Alam Minera Heru Hidayat.

Benny and Heru are also suspects in the corruption case at PT Asuransi Jiwasraya.

In addition, the Attorney General's Office has attached articles of money laundering (TPPU) to three suspects, namely Benny Tjockrosaputro, Heru Hidayat, and Jimmy Sutopo.
