Hit And Run Kill 1 Person In Temanggung, DIY Residents Driver Trucks Become Suspects

JATENG - Police detained a truck driver with the initials WS (33), the perpetrator of the hit-and-run resulted in the death of a victim and another minor injury.

Head of the Traffic Unit (Kasatlantas) of the Temanggung Police, Adjunct Commissioner of Police Tri Afandi, said the accident was on Tuesday, December 24 at 02.00 WIB on Jalan Raya Temanggung-Kedu, Temanggung, Central Java.

The victim, Mandalla Fa'izal Adhcaha, a resident of Bakal Hamlet, Campurejo Village, died. Meanwhile, M. Rifqibil Chaq, a resident of Mudal Village, suffered a broken right leg and was treated at the Temanggung Hospital.

After the accident, the perpetrator did not try to provide assistance to the victim, but instead continued his journey and fled.

Kasatlantas said that initially the Honda Beat AA-3356-YN motorcycle driven by Mandalla together with M. Rifqibil came from Temanggung to Kedu at a moderate speed.

Arriving at the scene of the incident, from the opposite direction (Kedu) a truck that was walking too far to the right exceeded the road segment

"Because the distance was close and could not be avoided, so there was a traffic accident, then the truck driver did not stop the vehicle, then the victim was taken to the hospital for further treatment," he said, confiscated by Antara.

The truck driver who had disappeared was arrested at his wife's house in Sleman, Yogyakarta Special Region (DIY), three days later.

He conveyed that the suspect had sufficient evidence of committing a criminal act of traffic accident which due to negligence resulted in traffic accidents with victims dying and or minor injuries and not providing assistance to victims as referred to in the primary formulation of Article 310 (4) subsidiary Article 310 (2) in conjunction with Article 312 of Law No. 22 of 2009 concerning Road Traffic and Transportation.

"The threat of imprisonment is a maximum of five years in prison," he said.
