Throughout 2024, 650 People Died In Accidents In Banten

JAKARTA - A total of 650 people died due to traffic accidents in Banten's jurisdiction throughout 2024.

This number has decreased compared to 2023 which reached 727 people.

"For the victims who died, it fell 11 percent from 727 people to 650 people," said Director of Traffic and Traffic of the Banten Police, Kombes Leganek Mawardi in his statement, Sunday, December 21.

Despite the decline in the death rate, the number of traffic accidents throughout 2024 has increased.

There were 1,936 traffic accidents, both two-wheeled and four-wheeled.

"18 percent increase from the previous one in 2023 was 1,643 incidents to 1,936 incidents in 2024," said Leganek.

Meanwhile, victims of serious injuries due to traffic accidents throughout 2024 increased by 29 percent, from 137 people to 177 people throughout 2024.

"And for minor injuries, it rose 32 percent from 1,736 to 2,283," he said.
