41 Families Affected By West Kalimantan Singkawang Flood Evacuated

A total of 41 families (KK) were evacuated as a result of their houses being flooded in Setapuk Besar Village, Singkawang City, West Kalimantan (West Kalimantan), Friday, December 13.

They were evacuated to SDN 81 and SDN 90, Setapuk Besar Village.

"This number includes adults, teenagers, children, and toddlers," said Lurah Setapuk Besar Lilis Kasianti, quoted by Antara.

Dozens of families who were evacuated are currently in safe condition at the two posts.

"Alhamdulillah, the flood victims are safe now," he said.

Head of BPBD Singkawang Nana Priyana said, based on the data collection carried out, there were more than 200 houses affected by the flood, especially in Setapuk Besar Village, North Singkawang District.

"It's just that some want to be evacuated, while others are still staying at home and some have fled to their families' homes," he said.

He appealed to residents, especially those affected by the flood, if they had to be evacuated, immediately inform BPBD Singkawang.

"Moreover, heavy rains are still happening today, because it is very possible that flooding will be higher," he said.

One of the flood victims, Jaliah hopes that the flood will recede soon.

"It's been three days since the flood entered my house, hopefully it will recede soon," he said.
