MATARAM - Investigators from the Women's Protection Unit and Children of the West Nusa Tenggara (NTB) Regional Police asked the digital forensic team to examine the video recording of a suspect with the initials IWAS alias Agus Bentung when carrying out the action against the victim.

"We ask for digital forensic IT assistance from the special criminal directorate to test the video so that it can be supporting evidence that there is indeed interaction between the victim and the perpetrator," said the Director of General Criminal Investigation at the NTB Police, Kombes Syarif Hidayat, as reported by ANTARA, Friday, December 6.

The police got the video footage from the cellphone of one of the victims. The video records the perpetrator's actions when approaching the victim.

"Indeed, the recording is video mode. However, because it was placed below, the image was not visible, only sound was heard. There was an interplay between the victim and the perpetrator, the sentences were manipulative from the perpetrator, there were sentences that took advantage of the victim's weaknesses, this is what we will explore," he said.

With the support of the digital forensic team of the NTB Police Ditreskrimsus, Syarif hopes that the results of the video testing can strengthen evidence in IWAS' case file.

"Hopefully, we can use this video recording as supporting evidence that is more comprehensive to make sure that it is true that this (sexual harassment) act occurred," he said.

Dirreskrimsus Polda NTB ensured that the video recording that could be heard in communication between the victim and the suspect IWAS took place at the introductory location, not at the inn or homestay.

"The video was at the introductory crime scene, not a video at a hotel, inn or homestay, a video of the initial way the perpetrator approached the victim," said Syarif.

The chairman of the Regional Disabilities Commission (KDD) of NTB Province, Joko Jumadi, also confirmed that the video recording only featured the perpetrator's voice with one of the victims.

"So as stated by Mr. Dirreskrimum, yesterday's victim was examined, there was a video, but it only shows voice recordings," he said.

In addition to video recordings, Joko revealed that the NTB Provincial KDD also received information from other victims who had evidence of voice recordings. However, the victim has not yet provided information to the police.

"That was only yesterday, there was one victim who conveyed the voice recording when IWAS carried out the manipulation process earlier," said Joko.
