Minister Of Social Affairs Risma Brings Good News On The First Day Of Ramadan, Social Assistance Recipient Data Will Be Opened

JAKARTA - Minister of Social Affairs (Mensos) Tri Rismaharini said that she will open the data of social assistance recipients (bansos) this month. This is done as a step of transparency in the distribution and the data can be checked by the public.

"Hopefully in the middle of this month we can open the data (recipients for social assistance, red) so that it can be transparent, seen by citizens", Risma said at the launch of National Strategy (stranas) PK 2021-2022 corruption prevention action that was broadcasted on KPK RI YouTube channel, Tuesday, April 13.

This transparency, she said, was done not without purpose. The former Mayor of Surabaya hopes that the public in the future can supervise the recipients of the social assistance, including making corrections to those who are not entitled.

"Anyone can see who received help. So corrections can be made to the community. For example, 'my neighbor doesn't deserve help but it's there'. Well, the correction of the community, the community can correct it", she said.

Furthermore, Risma said that the distribution of social assistance in March and April already uses the Population Identification Number (NIK) system. This is the result of cooperation conducted by the Ministry of Social Affairs with the local government and the Ministry of Home Affairs (Kemendagri) in synchronizing data.

However, she still warned that local governments in the future can make continuous data improvements in case of changes. "All the help that given in March and April used NIK. I am grateful, thanks to the local government and the Ministry of Trade, it has been done", she said.

"Local government can also update because the data can not remain because someone has moved, died, and others. We'll keep updating the data", she concluded.
