Check The Complete Rules Of Restaurant Operations In Jakarta During Ramadan

JAKARTA - Governor of DKI Jakarta Anies Baswedan changed a number of operational provisions of restaurants, or cafes during Ramadan that began today. This is stated in Governor's Decree No. 434 of 2021.

"To support community activities in carrying out the holy month of Ramadan in 1442 Hijri with adjustment of the type of restriction of micro-based community activities on restaurant activities, Kepgub No. 405 of 2021 needs to be changed," Anies said in Governor's Decree as quoted on Monday, April 12.

There are a number of new provisions in effect this month. First, Anies extended the operating hours of the eateries.

Food stalls, restaurants, cafes, restaurants, street vendors, or stalls at the construction site and temporary location, on-site dining services, or dine-in are extended until 22.30 western Indonesia time.

Then, restaurants can operate again at 02.00 to 04.30 western Indonesia time to serve the needs of sahur. Then, take away/delivery can operate 24 hours. Eat or drink in places with at most 50 percent of the visitor's capacity.

Secondly, Anies also prohibited bars from selling liquor, both stand-alone and in-business restaurants must be closed during Ramadan in 1442 Hijri.

"Bars selling alcoholic beverages must be closed. It is not allowed to operate during Ramadan," said Acting Head of Tourism Industry Tourism and Creative Economy Council DKI Jakarta, Dedi Sumardi.

Third, live music in restaurants, restaurants, and cafes during Ramadan is also prohibited. Previously, during PPKM Mikro, Anies allowed live music with acoustic type to perform in restaurants. On the record, it doesn't cause a crowd.

"During Ramadan, all live music up to the acoustic type is prohibited. In the future, we will wait for developments," he said.

Dedi said, if there are businesses that still hold live music, the Provincial Government of DKI will sanction violations of health protocols in accordance with Governor Decree No. 3 of 2021.

If a violation of COVID-19 prevention protocol is found to be a written strike. Then, if repeating the second violation, then a temporary suspension of activities is carried out for 3 days. Then, if it still repeats the violation, it is subject to an administrative fine of at most Rp. 50 million.

Fourth, Anies urged food businesses to wear curtain covers so as not to be seen in full. This is to respect the activities of the community in performing fasting.

Not applicable to restaurants inside the mall

Acting Head of The Office of Industry, Trade, Cooperatives, Small and Medium Enterprises (PPKUKM) DKI Jakarta Andri Yansyah explained, the operating hours of shopping centers (malls) including restaurants in it do not get an extension of operational time.

"When viewed from the provisions, here does not regulate the problem of malls. Thus, I translate that the mall remains closed at 21.00 western Indonesia time, including the tenants in it," said Andri.

Andri said that the PPUKM Office also never reviewed the plan to extend the operational time of malls in Jakarta. Because, so far, the mall's operations have been extended, from 19.00 to 20.00, and now until 21.00 western Indonesia time.

"The Governor's decision regulates the place of restaurants or places to eat outside the mall and is not mentioned specifically to the mall. Therefore, the mall closes at 21.00 western Indonesia time including the restaurant in it," said Andri.
