Israeli Military Warns Iran Not To Try To Smuggle Weapons Into Hezbollah

JAKARTA - Israeli spokesman Defense Forces (IDF) Rear Admiral Daniel Badminton said his party had seen Iran send reinforcements to Syria amid a rebel attack there last week.

"We are following closely what is happening in Syria. We see that the Iranian regime is sending reinforcements to Syria," Laksda kazi told Sky News Arabia, according to a statement given by the military, quoted by The Times of Israel December 2.

Laksda kazi said, "Syria belongs to Syria" and "what happens in Syria concerns Syria and not Israel" but the IDF "will ensure Iran does not smuggle weapons into Lebanon and Hezbollah."

"We need to make sure we are not threatened. We are a sovereign country and we will ensure that Iranian weapons are not smuggled into Hezbollah," said Laksda Shari.

"Hezbollah was defeated in the operation and it is necessary to confirm that they did not receive weapons from Iran through Syria," he continued.

"And if they try to do so, we will act accordingly," he added.

Regarding the ceasefire with Hezbollah, Laksdatenhi said "the Lebanese community and government must ensure places in Beirut or southern Lebanon are free from weapons not in houses, not in the yard of houses, not in children's rooms. "

"We are committed to a ceasefire agreement. Tens of days is a step step forward to ensure Hezbollah will not hurt us or violate the treaty as happened in 2006. The Lebanese government and UNIFIL forces must carry out their duties, it is also in their interest. We need this period to ensure there is no terrorist base there," he added.
