KKB Shoots Residents In Kago Puncak Village

JAYAPURA - Head of the Cartenz Peace Task Force Brigadier General Faizal Rahmadani confirmed the news that members of the KKB shot Laode Rusli (55) at the intersection of the market complex, Kago Village, Ilaga District, Puncak Regency, Central Papua.

The shooting occurred at around 19:00 WIT, when he was about to go to Al Iklas Ilaga Mosque to perform the Isha prayer.

"It is true that there were reports about residents who were shot by the KKB, last Monday night in Ilaga," said Brigadier General Faizal as quoted by ANTARA, Monday, December 2.

The Papuan Deputy Chief of Police said the victim had been evacuated and handled by the medical team at the Ilaga Hospital.

His condition was relatively stable and was scheduled for Tuesday (3/12) to be evacuated to Timika to receive treatment for the gunshot wound on the left shoulder that penetrated the front shoulder.

"It is not yet known which group the perpetrators were from and whether they had anything to do with the death of KKB members in Gome, Puncak Regency," said Brigadier General Faizal.

Earlier on Monday at around 09.50 WIT, KKB member Rumah Waker was killed in a firefight with a joint TNI-Polri force in Gome, Puncak Regency.
