The Minister Of Manpower Immediately Issues A 6.5 Percent UMP Increase Rules

JAKARTA - Minister of Manpower (Menaker), Yussierli immediately issued a Minister of Manpower (Permenaker) regulation regarding the increase in the 2025 national minimum wage by 6.5 percent.

"We will washhinihopefully, I can't promise, maybe before Wednesday (4/12) the Minister of Manpower has left," he said after a limited meeting with President Prabowo at the Presidential Palace complex, Jakarta, reported by ANTARA, Friday, November 29.

The limited meeting discussed the decision of the 2025 national minimum wage of 6.5 percent, as an important social safety network for workers, especially those working less than 12 months.

He ensured that this policy had been explained conceptually by the President and would be further regulated in the Minister of Manpower.

"So earlier, my friends were clear about what the President said. In terms of concept, what kind of policy would his policy be, it's clear," he said.

Regarding the sectoral minimum wage, Yassierli emphasized that the discussion would be carried out by the Wage Council at the provincial, city and district levels, according to the mandate of the Constitutional Court.

"It's clear, the Constitutional Court mandate is a sectoral wage in the Provincial, City, Regency Wage Council. The President said that earlier, it was clear, everything was clear," he said.

When asked about the 6.5 percent increase, Yassierli said the decision was entirely the President's policy after hearing input from various parties, including workers.

Yassierli also dismissed the rejection from the workers regarding this increase. According to him, the President has considered the aspirations expressed by the workers before making a decision.

"This means that he heard input from many parties. Then, he took a policy like that," he said.

The Permenaker that is being prepared will contain further specifications regarding the implementation of this minimum wage increase.

Yassierli hopes that the community and related parties will support this policy so that it can be implemented effectively.
