JAKARTA - The Minister of Social Affairs, Saifullah Yusuf, will meet Agus Salim to find a solution to the chaotic donation that is currently happening.

The Minister of Social Affairs delivered the statement when he received the arrival of Youtubers Denny Sumargo and Pratiwi Noviyanti at his office.

"Yes (meeting Agus), if for example meeting here is okay, I can also come to his house. We want to talk from heart to heart," said the Minister of Social Affairs as reported by ANTARA, Friday, November 29.

He is committed to finding the best solution by exploring problems and identifying important points to achieve peace between the warring parties.

"This concerns the work area of the Ministry of Social Affairs. Frankly, I see that everything started with good intentions to help other relatives who needed our help," he said.

According to him, the confusion that occurred was the result of misunderstandings and illogicalism, which then caused discussions in the public sphere. Therefore, the Minister of Social Affairs invites all parties involved to sit down together and find solutions.

"I and the Deputy Minister of Social Affairs invite all friends, including Mas Agus Salim and also lawyers, let's sit down together, let's talk. The best thing is to find a solution," he said.

The Minister of Social Affairs also invited all groups to understand the existing provisions. The collection of donations or in the law is called the Collection of Money and Goods (PUB) as the domain of the Ministry of Social Affairs as regulated in Law No. 9 of 1961 concerning PUB and Regulation of the Minister of Social Affairs No. 8 of 2021 concerning the Implementation of PUB.

Although currently many have licensed, the collection of donations is also not licensed. This issue is understood by the Minister of Social Affairs as an evaluation so that the Ministry of Social Affairs can strengthen socialization related to PUB whose permits can be taken care of through the Ministry of Social Affairs, which is currently digital-based.

"Well, in the future, Mas Densu, Ms. Novi, will help us to participate in socializing that this must be a process that must be passed, and it is not difficult," he added.

The Minister of Social Affairs explained that anyone can collect money or goods with a permit, but still by showing good governance, including the accountability being audited.

In Permensos No. 8 of 2021, PUB organizers are obliged to make a report to the PUB license giver regarding the details and amount of the proceeds from the collection and distribution of aid. For PUB collected with a value above Rp500 million must be audited by a public accountant.

"In addition to obtaining a permit, later there will be accountability for the money that has been obtained or what the goods that have been obtained are used for. Then, it needs to be audited, both by the authorities and by the community at large," he said.

The Minister of Social Affairs also reminded PUB organizers to use social media to report the results and distribution of donations so that public trust arises.

The collection of donations is a large social capital owned by the Indonesian people. Therefore, this social solidarity must be maintained by organizing PUB in accordance with applicable regulations.
