Maruarar Creates A Competition To Arrest Harun Masiku, House Of Representatives Commission III: Freedom Of Expression

JAKARTA - Chairman of Commission III of the DPR, Habiburokhman, responded to a competition raised by the Minister of PKP, Maruarar Sirait to arrest the fugitive from the KPK, Harun Masiku.

Habiburokhman assessed that the competition in exchange for Rp. 8 billion was a form of freedom of expression for the people who were anti-corruption.

"Regarding the competition, the freedom of expression of people who love the eradication of corruption, we respect those who want corruption to be eradicated," said Habiburokhman, Friday, November 29.

Before Maruarar, continued Habiburokhman, there had been a competition from the public with various prizes. In fact, he admitted that he was interested in looking for Harun Masiku with a bonus of Rp. 8 billion promised by Maruarar.

"There are already several competitions, there are iPhones, right, there are Umrah, lastly from Mr. Maruarar IDR 8 billion. If that's the case, we are also looking for IDR 8 billion, which is not bad for the 2029 campaign," he joked.

The deputy governor of Gerindra also mentioned the PDIP's statement which stated the competition against the KPK. According to him, similar to Maruarar, PDIP's attitude is also a freedom of expression.

"Well, then there are PDIP friends who say, that's against the KPK, that's also part of freedom of expression. We respect it, please," he said.

"It's just that, yes, what's the name, everyone is now hoping for Harun Masiku to be arrested soon. The point is that, no one doesn't expect that," added Habiburokhman.

It is known that the competition raised by Maruarar Sirait was in the spotlight after a 1 minute 21 second video circulated on social media X. In the video, Maruarar mentioned that PDIP Secretary General Hasto Kristiyanto had sent him a book entitled Politics It was Holy by his father, Sabam Sirait.

"I have not received the book of Politics. Please, we accept it, from Mas Hasto and I am very happy if I can get it and make me more enthusiastic," said Maruarar in the video.

Maruarar later stated that the book would further motivate him to move his network in search of Harun Masiku, who is still at large.

"I will use that energy to help and move my network, because there is a big case that I see will involve big people in this republic, which concerns Harun Masiku," said Maruarar.

"Who is Harun Masiku, how come he hasn't been arrested for years? I will give a bonus of Rp. 8 billion for those who can catch him, my personal money. So that enthusiasm, so that in this country who are above the law can be snared, and I use the blessings of God to eradicate corruption in Indonesia," he added.
