Ciliwung River Overflows, 36 RTs In Jatinegara Are Submerged By Water Up To 2 Meters

JAKARTA - Head of BPBD DKI Jakarta Province Isnawa Adji said that 36 RTs in Jatinegara District, East Jakarta were hit by floods today, Thursday morning, November 28, 2024. Isnawa confirmed that the flood was caused by the overflow of the Ciliwung River.

"There are a total of 29 RTs in Kampung Melayu Village that were flooded. The water level is 30 to 250 cm," Isnawa Adji told VOI, Thursday, November 28.

In addition, the flood also submerged 3 RTs in Bidara Cina Village, Jatinegara. The flood submerged residents' houses to a height of 115 cm to 175 cm.

"Three RTs in Bidara Cina Village were flooded due to the overflow of the Ciliwung River," he said.

Then 1 RT in Balekambang Village, Kramat Jati, was also flooded to a height of 220 cm. The cause was due to the overflow of the Ciliwung River.

In Cawang Village, there are 2 RTs that were flooded with a height of 220 cm. Furthermore, 1 RT in Cililitan Village was also submerged. Floods with an altitude of 190 cm.

"The cause of flooding in the East Jakarta area was caused by the overflow of the Ciliwung River," he said.

Meanwhile, there is 1 RT in the Cipinang Muara Village, Jatinegara, which has receded from the flood in East Jakarta.

Then two roads in East Jakarta that were flooded, namely on Jalan Pangolan Baru 1, Dukuh Village, Kramat Jati District, East Jakarta, have receded.

Pelita Street No.5, Lubang Buaya Village, Cipayung District, East Jakarta has also receded.

Currently, the DKI Jakarta BPBD has deployed personnel to monitor inundation conditions in each region and coordinate elements of the Natural Resources Service, Bina Marga Service, Gulkarmat Service to carry out inundation suction.

"We are coordinating with related parties to ensure that the water lines function properly together with the local village heads and sub-district heads. The puddle is targeted to recede in a short time," he said.

BPBD DKI appealed to the public to remain careful and alert to potential inundation.
