JAKARTA - The UK will follow the proper legal process if Benjamin Netanyahu visits England, Foreign Minister David Lemmy said on Monday.
The answer was conveyed by Foreign Minister Lemmy when asked whether London would comply with an arrest warrant by the International Criminal Court (ICC) against Israeli Prime Minister Netanyahu.
"We are the signing of the Rome Statute, we are always committed to our obligations based on international law and international humanitarian law," Foreign Minister Lemmy told reporters at a G7 meeting in Italy.
"Of course, if there is such a visit to the UK, there will be a court process and a legal process that should be followed up on the matter," he said.
As previously reported, the ICC based in The Hague, Netherlands issued arrest warrants against PM Netanyahu, former defense minister Yoav Gallant, and Hamas leader Mohammed Diab Ibrahim Al-Masri who was also known as Mohammed Deif on Thursday last week.
