House Of Representatives Member From PKS Party Faction Asks PT Kereta Api Indonesia To Tighten Passenger Supervision After Lowering Antigen Test Prices

JAKARTA - Member of Commission V of the House of Representatives (DPR) Toriq Hidayat welcomed the policy of PT Kereta Api Indonesia which lowered the price of rapid antigen tests from around IDR 105 thousand to IDR 85 thousand. According to him, this price is more affordable for people who want to do activities through the train.

"People who want to check or screen for COVID-19 at stations at affordable prices through both antigen and GeNose C19 rapid tests", Toriq said in a statement on Monday, April 12.

According to the PKS Party politician, the decrease in the price of antigen tests can also minimize the long queue of prospective passengers who conduct COVID-19 screening. Especially in large stations because there are options at cheaper prices.

"This is an effort by the government in screening COVID-19 detection in train transportation modes to break the chain of COVID-19 spread", explained Toriq.

However, he asked PT KAI to further tighten supervision to ensure that all prospective long-distance train passengers have met the requirements set by the government.

"The supervision of officers on prospective passengers who do not conduct COVID-19 screening at the station, should also be improved", he said.

If something is not appropriate, he said, prospective passengers should be prohibited from continuing the trip and the ticket will be canceled.

"According to the Circular Letter of the Ministry of Transportation No. 27 of 2021, the validity period of negative results of antigen rapid tests is 3×24 hours since the sampling taken. if it is not appropriate then the ticket is canceled", added Toriq.

It is known that PT KAI is working with Rajawali Nusindo a subsidiary of Rajawali Nusantara Indonesia to hold rapid antigen services. Since its opening from December 21, 2020 to April 5, 2021, PT KAI has served 493.014 rapid antigen participants at the station.

The rapid test antigen service is currently available at 43 stations. Among them, Gambir, Pasar Senen, Bandung, Kiaracondong, Tasikmalaya, Banjar, Cirebon, Cirebon Prujakan, Jatibarang, Semarang Poncol, Semarang Tawang, Tegal, Pekalongan, Cepu.

Then, Purwokerto, Kutoarjo, Kroya, Yogyakarta, Lempuyangan, Solo Balapan, Klaten, Madiun, Blitar, Jombang, Kediri, Kertosono, and Tulungagung. Services are also available at Surabaya Gubeng Station, Surabaya Pasar Turi, Malang, Sidoarjo, Mojokerto, Jember, Ketapang, Kertapati, Lahat, Lubuk Linggau, Muara Enim, Prabumulih, Tebing Tinggi, Tanjungkarang, Kotabumi, and Baturaja.
