JAKARTA - Commission III of the DPR RI has appointed five elected KPK leaders and five elected KPK Supervisory Boards (Dewas) after the fit and proper test or fit and proper test. The DPR hopes that the elected KPK leaders and Councils can work together and solidly.

"Five elected KPK leaders and five elected KPK Councils have been appointed by Commission III of the DPR. Hopefully with new leadership, the KPK can get better," said Member of Commission III of the DPR RI, Gilang Dhielafararez, Friday, November 22.

In particular, Gilang advised the elected KPK leaders and Councils to be united in eradicating corruption in Indonesia. He said, there should be no more fuss as in the previous period.

"The new KPK leadership and the new KPK Council must be more solid, don't make a fuss. Because internal issues between leaders will affect the performance of the institution," he said.

"Even if there is a debate, it must be resolved internally properly. However, when acting to eradicate corruption, all leaders must still be united and synergized," added Gilang.

As is known, Commission III has appointed five elected KPK leaders and five elected KPK Councils after completing the fit and proper test on Thursday, November 21.

This competency and feasibility test is a follow-up to Prabowo Subianto's presidential letter (Surpres) number R60/PRES/11/2024 dated November 4, 2024 regarding candidates for KPK leadership and candidates for the KPK Council for the period 2024-2029.

Based on the applicable regulations, the DPR has the authority to give considerations to the Government in determining the leadership and the KPK Council. Therefore, the fit and proper test is carried out to determine the best candidate from the results of the selection committee (Pansel) formed by the Government.

Fit and proper test was attended by 10 candidates for the leadership of the KPK and 10 candidates for members of the KPK Council for four days from Monday to Thursday, or 18-21 November 2024.

As a result, Commission III of the DPR chose Setyo Budiyanto as a candidate for chairman, Fitroh Rochcahyanto, Ibnu Basuki Widodo, Johanis Tanak, and Agus Joko Pramono as candidates for deputy chairman of the new KPK.

Meanwhile, the five names for Dewas members with the most voting votes fell on Benny Jozua Mamoto, Chisca Mirawati, Wisnu Baroto, Gusrizal, and Sumpeno.
