JAKARTA - KPK Capim Michael Rolandi C. Brata agreed with the revision of the KPK Law and agreed that the Asset Confiscation Law was applied to perpetrators of corruption.

This was conveyed by Michael during a fit and proper test at Commission III of the DPR, Monday, November 18.

Initially, a member of Commission III of the DPR from the Democratic Faction, Benny K Harman, questioned whether Michael agreed to a revision of the KPK Law.

Benny also asked whether Michael agreed with the KPK investigators and prosecutors to become independent investigators.

"Third, because you were behind the financial background, of course, Mr. Michael's question is whether he agrees with the asset confiscation law?" asked Benny.

Answering Benny's question, Michael expressed his agreement with the revision of the KPK Law. According to him, the KPK must be independent and not under the executive.

"Agreed with the KPK Law to be revised again. This is indeed sir, in the old law, Law 30 of 2002, the KPK is not under the executive clump. The KPK can become the fourth pillar, sir, in terms of state administration," said Michael.

"However, if I see it, it is on the independence side that the KPK must implement. When the KPK is now in the executive family, it is institutionally independent that it is in the executive family. But functional independence, he should be free, free in terms of remaining independent to carry out activities. carry out his duties and functions, sir, "said Michael.

"So I think, with the space there for the KPK to be able to carry out its independence, he is sufficient to carry out his activities. Only, what Benny wanted to convey earlier was that these investigators must indeed be independent, sir, from wherever the agency is, he is actually in terms of investigative activities, investigations, it must have an independent attitude," he continued.

Then Michael also encouraged the Asset Confiscation Bill to be passed. According to him, the Confiscation Law must be applied to perpetrators of corruption.

"Well, related to the Asset Confiscation Law, of course, if there is enough infrastructure to do it, sir, I agree to apply it," said Micahel.
