JAKARTA - A member of the Central Lombok DPRD from the National Awakening Party (PKB) with the initials TR was reported to the police regarding the use of fake C package diplomas to run in the 2024 Legislative Election.

Head of the Public Relations Section of the Central Lombok Police, Iptu Lalu Brata, confirmed the handling of a case of alleged use of fake C package diplomas with reported TR, a member of the Central Lombok DPRD.

"Yes, we are investigating the report from the NTB Police follow-up," he said by telephone, Thursday, November 14, as reported by Antara.

For the latest developments, Brata conveyed that there was an agenda for requesting clarification from the reporter by the Central Lombok Police Criminal Investigation Unit (Satreskrim) Team.

"Today the agenda (the reporter is asked for information)," he said.

The reporter in this case is named Nurdji. When confirmed regarding the agenda for asking for information from him today at the Central Lombok Police, Nurdji admitted that he did not receive any invitations to attend to provide information.

"I did not receive any invitations or notifications for questioning today. However, now that I am at the police station, I want to ask for information on the progress of the report to what extent, he said he wanted to hold the case," said Nurdji.

Nurdji's attorney, HC Bion Hidayat previously said that his client reported that the alleged use of fake C package diplomas was part of a moral responsibility.

"So, in this case why do we report this case? Because there is a moral responsibility to the nation's children that the DPR as a political institution must set the best example for the next generation of the nation," said Bion.

Regarding the reporting material, he said that his client received the first time information on the use of this fake C package diploma from the Center for Community Learning Activities (PKBM) named Global in Central Lombok Regency.

According to the reporter, PKBM Global, which has been inactive since 2010, feels aggrieved by the issuance of TR's package C diploma in 2016.

"The problem is there, PKBM Global is closed in 2010, but there is a diploma that uses their blanks issued and signed by the Head of the Central Lombok Dikpora Service in 2016. This means who did what and how it happened, so our client reports," he said.

In the process of reporting the first at the NTB Police in the period three months ago, he explained, his client also attached evidence of related documents, such as the TR package C diploma issued by the Central Lombok Dikpora Service in 2016.

Furthermore, there is also a statement letter from the former Secretary and Treasurer of PKBM Global which outlines the reason why the PKBM was closed in 2010 because the operational permit was not extended.

"The statement of the secretary and treasurer of the PKBM has also been conveyed to the police," he said.

By conveying this, Nurdji in his report included alleged criminal violations of Article 263 of the Criminal Code and Article 264 of the Criminal Code regarding the use of fake letters.

Separately, the Chairman of the Central Lombok PKB Branch Leadership Council (DPC) Lalu Pelita Putra responded to this report by conveying that the issue of using the fake C package diploma had been rolling since 2019.

"We saw or monitored the progress," he said via short message online.

He did not provide further response regarding this issue under the pretext that PKB is currently concentrating on the 2024 Simultaneous Pilkada contestation.

"Many have given explanations regarding our attitude. Currently, we are still concerned about facing the regional elections," he said.
