TANJUNG SELOR - The Special Criminal Investigation Team (Pidsus) of the North Kalimantan Provincial Attorney's Office (Kejari) Bulungan searched the Office of the Regional Tourism Office (Dispar) and the Regional Revenue Agency (Bapenda) of North Kalimantan Province (Kaltara) in the investigation of alleged corruption in the implementation of Benuanta Fest 2K25.
Head of the Special Criminal Section (Kasi Pidsus) of the Bulungan District Attorney's Office, R. Joharca Dwi Putra revealed that the search, which was carried out in stages, was to complete the evidence of the case related to the procurement of services for the 13th Anniversary of North Kalimantan (HUT) in 2025 through the Benuanta Fest 2K25 activities.
"The search at Bapenda Kaltara was carried out because the institution has a connection in the committee structure for the implementation of Benuanta Fest 2K25, especially in the management of funds," said Joharca, Wednesday, July 8.
"In the Benuanta Fest 2K25 activities, a committee was formed. Bapenda was given a task in the affairs of funds, namely receiving donations from parties that provide support for the activity," he continued.
He explained that in the committee structure, the Dispar Kaltara acted as the first treasurer, while the Bapenda was the second treasurer. Therefore, investigators consider that the two regional device organizations (OPD) have a relationship with the implementation of activities.
"The Tourism Service is the first treasurer, while in Bapenda its position as the second treasurer. So there is indeed a connection in the implementation of these activities," he said.
He explained, from the search at the Kaltara Dispar Office on Tuesday, July 7, yesterday. investigators secured around 20 bundles of documents related to the implementation of Benuanta Fest 2K25. Meanwhile, from the Bapenda Office, investigators seized a number of documents in the form of proposals, decisions (SK), and letters of request.
"The documents secured at Bapenda are not many. Some documents have also previously been handed over to investigators," explained Joharca.
Joharca said that in addition to confiscating documents, investigators also continued to examine witnesses to uncover alleged irregularities in the implementation of the activity. So far, about seven witnesses from Dispar and Bapenda Kaltara have been questioned. They consist of staff to heads of departments.
"There are still about seven witnesses who have been examined. There are staff and also the head of the field from the two OPDs," he said.
Joharca emphasized that the investigation is still ongoing. Investigators do not rule out conducting additional searches and collecting additional evidence if necessary.
"If later in the investigation process it is needed again, of course we will do it according to the needs of the investigation," he said.
He added that although the case had entered the investigation stage, his party ensured that no party had been designated as a suspect.
"There is no determination of suspects. The process is still ongoing. Investigators are currently still collecting documents and statements from witnesses to fully uncover the alleged corruption in the implementation of Benuanta Fest 2K25," he said.
