Corslet Air Cable, Empty Building In Cipayung Caught Fire Almost Spreading To The Materials Shop

JAKARTA - An empty building located on Jalan Raya Pondok Ranggon, RW 01, Pondok Rangon Village, Cipayung District, East Jakarta, was burned down by fire, Wednesday, October 23.

The fire had caused panic from local residents. Residents also struggled to extinguish the fire using makeshift tools.

However, because the flames were getting bigger, residents reported to the Pondok Rangon Sector Fire Department to extinguish the fire. A total of 6 cars with 30 officers were deployed to the fire site.

"The object caught fire in an empty house covering an area of 60 meters. The cause of the fire was an electrical short," said one of the firefighters, Wednesday, October 23.

The fire incident was discovered by a material store worker who saw sparks in one of the transverse aerial power lines.

"The worker from the material saw an electrical short and then grabbed it into an empty house that was below it," he said.

The fire was extinguished only 30 minutes later. Luckily, there were no casualties in the fire incident.
