Member Of Commission X DPR Asks Ministry Of Religion-Kemendikdasmen To Immediately Ensure Plans For School Holidays For A Month During Ramadan

JAKARTA - Member of Commission X DPR from the PKB faction Habib Syarief Muhammad Alaydrus responded to the discourse of a full one-month school holiday during Ramadan.

He asked the Ministry of Religion (Kemenag) and the Ministry of Elementary and Secondary Education (Kemendikdasmen) to sit down together to discuss the plan.

Habib Syarief supports the plan for holidays during Ramadan for a full month if it aims to provide opportunities for students to carry out worship optimally. So that it can increase their sprtuality side.

"The purpose of the holidays during Ramadan is very good. Our students can focus on worship and study religion. We support the plan," said Habib Syarief, Friday, January 3.

According to him, the plan to take a vacation during Ramadan must be finalized, because there are only two months left.

Therefore, he asked the Ministry of Religion and the Ministry of Education and Culture to sit down together to discuss the plan so that the program can be carried out properly. Because until now, said Habib Syarief, there has been no clear format and details regarding holidays during Ramadan.

"There are still many questions that arise. Are all school activities closed, so there are no activities at all during Ramadan? Or disbursed formal learning and replaced with religious learning?," he said.

"If children focus on studying religion and worship, what is the format? Do their respective schools hold Ramadan activities or are they left to their parents in full? Those questions must be answered, so that schools and parents are not confused and ask questions again," continued Habib Syarief.

The reason is, according to Habib Syarif, if the activities during Ramadan are fully handed over to their parents, then they will have difficulty managing them. Especially if the parents work together. In fact, even if one of the parents doesn't work, they are believed to be in trouble.

"If children fill the Ramadan holiday only at home, then they will get bored quickly. Parents will also have difficulty managing children's boredom during Ramadan. It is feared that children will play cellphones more often at home," he said.

Syarif said that gadget addiction has become a serious problem among children. "This device is a addiction for children. Many children cannot be separated from addiction to the use of this device, Ramadan should be used to keep children away from the influence of gadgets," he explained.

Therefore, Habib Syarief asked the Ministry of Religion and the Ministry of Education and Culture to hold a joint meeting in formulating the Ramadan program or the speed pesantren.

For example, every school must hold Ramadan activities in collaboration with the local mosque to hold religious events.

"This must be formulated immediately, so that schools and madrasas can prepare to welcome Ramadan and arrange activities that will be carried out," he concluded.
