JAKARTA - Head of Data Information and Communication Center (Kapusdatinkom) Disaster National Disaster Management Agency (BNPB) Raditya Jati said that the flood disasters in 11 districts/cities in East Nusa Tenggara were the worst since the last 10 years.

Raditya said, 10 years ago there was a big flood in East Nusa Tenggara (NTT), namely on November 3, 2020, and April 11, 2011.

"In the last 10 years, there have indeed been floods, and it has affected several casualties, including infrastructure and damaged houses", Raditya said in BNPB Indonesia's YouTube broadcast, Monday, April 5.

He explained that the flood on November 3, 2010, hit the South Timor Tengah Regency. As a result, 31 people died, 7 people were missing, 27 were injured, and 159 houses were damaged.

Then on April 11, 2011, floods occurred in Belu Regency which resulted in damage to 3.277 houses and 14 public facilities. On Sunday, April 4, 2021, it was recorded that there were 10 districts and 1 city that were also quite badly affected. Currently, there have been 68 people who have died.

There were also material losses in the form of 25 housing units severely damaged, 114 housing units moderately damaged, 17 housing units washed away, 60 housing units submerged, 743 houses affected, 40 access points covered by fallen trees, 5 broken bridges, 1 public facility affected, and 1 ship sank.

"In addition, 15 people were recorded injured and 938 heads of families or 2.655 people who were affected by the flood", he said.
