TNI Members Injured By Israeli Attacks, Jokowi Asks TNI Troops In Lebanon To Be Careful

JAKARTA - President Joko Widodo asked all TNI troops on duty in the UN peacekeeping force at the UNIFILLebanon Headquarters to be careful.

This was conveyed by Jokowi in response to the presence of TNI members who were injured in the Israeli attack in Lebanon.

"Yes, the situation is indeed in a state of war like that, so if someone gets hit, it's a minor injury, that's what we all need to be careful about, especially those there. Everything," Jokowi said as quoted by ANTARA, Friday, October 11.

Previously, Foreign Minister Retno Marsudi stated that two peacekeepers from Indonesia suffered minor injuries as a result of an Israeli military attack on an observation tower at the UNIFIL Headquarters in Naqura, Lebanon, Thursday (10/10) night.

"The attack on the tower in Naqoura resulted in two personnel being injured. And the two peacekeepers are personnel from Indonesia," said Retno on the sidelines of a series of activities at the 45th ASEAN Summit in Vientiane, Laos, Friday.

Based on the explanation of the chronology of the attack compiled by Retno from UNIFIL, the Israeli troop attack (IDF) on UNIFIL took place at around 05.05 local time against the OP-4 observation tower building on Green Hill, Naqura.

The UN Security Council held a meeting to discuss the situation in the Middle East, following the attack.

Retno said the UN Security Council held a briefing meeting to discuss the Middle East situation.

The UN DK meeting was at France's request as the holder of the mandate of Lebanese affairs and UNIFIL.
