Cak Imin Asks Prabowo To Revise Regulations On Travel Costs For DPRD Offices: They Are Not Involved In Loans, But Government Banks

Chairman of the National Awakening Party (PKB) Muhaimin Iskandar asked the elected President of the Republic of Indonesia Prabowo Subianto to complete the revision of Presidential Regulation (Perpres) Number 33 of 2020 concerning the Standards for National Unit Prices.

One of the Presidential Regulation 33/2020 contains standard honorariums and official travel costs for domestic DPRD members, meeting fees, to procurement and maintenance of official vehicles allocated from regional revenue and expenditure (APBD) budgets.

This was revealed by Cak Imin in his remarks at the PKB Legislative National Coordination Meeting which was also attended by Prabowo at Grand Sahid Jaya, Central Jakarta.

"I really ask for your presence, we entrust my friends, the DPRD-DPRD so that it is even safer to carry out tasks as well as possible to revise PP 33," said Cak Imin, Thursday, October 10.

Cak Imin views that the implementation of Presidential Decree 33/2020 which uniformizes the DPRD's work budget is not appropriate. This is detrimental to DPRD members in regions with sufficient fiscal abilities.

Often, council members often spend personal funds while traveling on official trips. In fact, according to him, many DPRD members still have a responsibility for the cost of spending their campaign in the last legislative election.

From this condition, continued Cak Imin, it resulted in many DPRD members being elected to pawn the decree (SK) regarding the determination as members of the legislature to the bank.

"The majority of them, after being inaugurated, immediately pawned the appointment decree, and on average they pawned it to banks with very very high interest," said Cak Imin.

"So on average they are not tempted by loans, but on average they are lined up by government banks," he continued, greeted by laughter from PKB cadres who were members of the DPRD.

On that occasion, Cak Imin also assessed that the regional financial condition was still able to facilitate official travel costs that were expected by DPRD members. After receiving applause from his cadre, Cak Imin joked again.

"You shouldn't be too reactive! It's too visible if you're poor," he said.
