Heru Budi Ensures Teacher Harasses Students At SMKN 56 Jakarta Dismissed

JAKARTA - Acting Governor of DKI Jakarta Heru Budi Hartono ensured that teachers who sexually harassed students at SMK Negeri 56 Jakarta were dismissed. Heru has ordered the Education Office to impose these sanctions.

"I have asked the Head of Office, if there is something like that, strict action will be taken. Later the administrative mechanism will be through the Inspectorate. Yes, definitely (dismissed)," said Heru at the DKI Jakarta DPRD Building, Tuesday, October 8.

Currently, the DKI Jakarta Education Office has disabled teachers suspected of harassing dozens of students. The deactivation was carried out after the victim reported the sexual harassment.

"That person concerned was deactivated as a teacher, placed in the Tanjung Priok District office," said Acting Head of the DKI Jakarta Education Office, Purwosusilo, to reporters.

Principal of SMKN 56 North Jakarta Ngadina explained that the school received a report on this harassment case on October 3, 2024. The school then clarified 11 students suspected of being victims of harassment from teacher H. The results of the clarification deactivated H so that he could focus on undergoing the legal process.

"The results of the BAP are in accordance with the request of the reporter as well, I propose to our superiors, and starting today the person concerned is no longer teaching at SMK Negeri 56 Jakarta," he explained.

Ngadina continued, based on the results of the victim's statement, the act of harassment by a teacher with the status of a Government Employee with a Work Agreement (PPPK) took place in the classroom of cultural arts.

"In accordance with reporting from students, it holds hands, holds shoulders, holds thighs, and wipes the head," said Ngadina.
