1,634 Personnel Secure Jakarta Pilkada Debate At JIEXPO Kemayoran

JAKARTA - The police deployed 1,634 joint personnel to secure the first debate between the governor and deputy governor candidate (cagub-cawagub) of the Jakarta Regional Head Election at JIExpo, Kemayoran, Central Jakarta, starting at 19.00 WIB.

"In order to secure the first debate for the 2024 Jakarta Regional Head Election (Pilkada), we involved 1,634 joint personnel who will be placed at the Jakarta International Expo (JIExpo)," said Central Jakarta Metro Police Chief Kombes Police Susatyo Purnomo Condro, Sunday, October 6.

The joint personnel deployed came from Polda Metro Jaya, Polres Metro Central Jakarta, TNI, Pemda DKI Jakarta, and related agencies.

Personnel involved in security are placed in ring 1, namely in the debate area, ring 2 around the lobby and entrance of JIExpo, then ring 3 in the outer sector of the entrances to the JIExpo area to the parking pockets.

Most of the guard is focused on the entrance and the supporters of the candidate pairs as many as 231 personnel, while around the lobby to keep the candidate pairs as many as 494 personnel, then the VIP entrance for the candidate pair for governor and deputy governor as many as 208 personnel.

"We focus on guarding at the entrance and lobbying areas to guard the masses or supporters of each pair of candidates for governor and deputy governor, while the others are on guard in ring 1, 2, and 3," said Susatyo.

Regarding the diversion of traffic flow around the JIExpo Kemayoran area, said Susatyo, it is situational. This means that traffic flow engineering will be implemented to see the development of dynamics in the field.

"If later around JIEXpo Kemayoran there is a mass of success teams (timses), there are quite a lot of candidate pairs supporters and the escalation increases, then we will carry out traffic engineering," said Susatyo.

Susatyo appealed to the public using the highway to avoid the JIExpo Kemayoran area, which is the location for the first debate between the governor and deputy governor of DKI Jakarta, as well as to find other alternative ways to avoid traffic congestion.

In addition, Susatyo emphasized to all personnel involved in security to always act humanely and serve residents in a polite manner. No one carries weapons to the security personnel involved.

The General Election Commission (KPU) of DKI Jakarta held the first debate between the candidate pair for governor and deputy governor of the 2024 DKI Jakarta Pilkada at the Jakarta International Expo (JIExpo), Kemayoran, Central Jakarta today starting at 19.00 WIB. The debate duration will last for 150 minutes.

The debaters are Ridwan Kamil-Suswono (RIDO) candidate pair governor and deputy governor number 1, Dharma Pongrekun-Kun Wardana (Dharma-Kun) from independent serial number 2, and Pramono Anung-Rano Karno (Pram-Doel) serial number 3.

The DKI Jakarta KPU divided into six segments of the inaugural debate for the governor and deputy governor candidates (cagub-cawagub) in the 2024 Jakarta Pilkada which began with the presentation of the vision and mission of each candidate pair.

Then, the second and third segments are part of each candidate pair, the fourth and fifth segments will be questioned between the candidate pairs and the sixth segment of the closing.

The DKI Jakarta KPU has scheduled a second phase of the debate between the governor and deputy governor candidates in the Jakarta Pilkada on October 27, followed by a third debate on November 17.
