Ditpolair Baharkam Polri Fails To Smuggle 134 Thousand Baby Lobster Worth IDR 32.8 Billion

JAKARTA - The Directorate of Water Police (Ditpolair) Baharkam Polri revealed a case of smuggling 134 thousand baby lobster seeds (BBL) worth Rp32.8 billion. In this case, four people were named as suspects.

"Securing 134 baby lobster seeds (BBL) in Lebak, Banten. From the disclosure, the state is estimated to have suffered losses of up to Rp32.8 billion," said Head of Sub-Directorate for Law Enforcement (Gakkum) Ditpolair Baharkam Polri, Kombes Donny Charles Go to reporters, Friday, October 4.

The four suspects have the initials DS, DE, DD and AM. In this case, they have different roles. For the suspect, DS as the head of the warehouse. In addition, he also played a role in finding, renting, selling and storing BBL.

Then, the suspects DE and DD were employed by DS to pack BBL. Meanwhile, AM is tasked with sending lobster seeds to the location determined by the main perpetrator.

This disclosure began when there was information about the lobster seed storage warehouse in Aweh Village, Karanganyar, Lebak, Banten.

This information was followed up with the crew of the 3016 Bitern Ship and the Directorate General of Marine Resources Supervision of the Ministry of Maritime Affairs and Fisheries conducting an investigation.

"Then for the crime scene itself, this crime scene is the fishing location rented by the perpetrator. Then there is one part of the building that is transformed into a warehouse as a place to replace oxygen from fuel," he said.

From that location, the officers also secured five people. The results of the examination, said Donny, his party named four people as suspects, namely the initials DS, DE, DD and AM.

Based on the examination, the suspects are strongly suspected of carrying out fishery business activities in the marketing sector, but are not equipped with licensing documents. In addition, the Lebak area, Banten, is also not included in the Government Fisheries Management Area of the Republic of Indonesia (WPPNRI).

"Then from the disclosure of a total of 134 thousand lobster seeds. We, the Ditpolair ranks, Korpolairud managed to save state losses totaling Rp32,867,600,000," said Donny.

For the suspect's actions, his party ensnared Article 92 in conjunction with Article 26 paragraph (1) of the Fisheries Law number 45 of 2009. How as an amendment to Law 31 of 2004 concerning fisheries.

Thus, they are threatened with imprisonment for 8 years and a fine of Rp. 1.5 billion.
