JAKARTA - The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) is investigating the owner of gold weighing 1.3 kilograms and cash of Rp. 100 million which was confiscated when searching a tax inspector in Malang, East Java. KPK spokesman Budi Prasetyo said the search for the owner of the gold and money was carried out by examining 10 witnesses. The details are four people are employees of the Directorate General of Taxes of the Ministry of Finance and the rest are private parties.

The following is the detail of the witnesses who were examined:

Checked at the Surabaya Police Headquarters, namely

1. Inggrid Triharyati as a private party;

2. Samsuni as ASN of the Directorate General of Taxes;

3. Ari Djunaedi as ASN of the Directorate General of Taxes;

4. Mukti Setyowani as ASN of the Directorate General of Taxes; and

5. Moh Ja'far Sodiq as a self-employed person.

Then those who were examined at the Surakarta Police Office were:

1. Agustina Dianawati as a private employee;

2. Muhammad Fahmi Djazuli Assalimy as a private employee;

3. Bagus Usodo as a wiraswasta;

4. Punto Ari Wibisoni as a private employee; and

5. Tri Wibowo as ASN of the Directorate General of Taxes.

"It's true (investigated regarding the discovery of gold and hundreds of millions of money, ed). This is the house of a tax officer, a tax inspector," said Budi when confirmed, Friday, August 14.

Budi further explained that out of four witnesses from the Directorate General of Taxes, one of them was the owner of the house where the gold and Rp100 million in cash were found.

However, he did not elaborate further on the figure. Budi only confirmed that investigators were investigating the process and mechanism of the examination conducted on the restitution submission by the taxpayer.

"The testimony of the witnesses is needed to explain how the process and mechanism of the examination conducted on the restitution submission by the taxpayer," he said.

The parties who were examined were also called former employees of the KPP Banjarmasin and the DJP Kalselteng Regional Office.

"Witnesses from the ASN element of the Directorate General of Taxes are employees who previously served in the Banjarmasin Sub-KPP and the Kalselteng DJP Regional Office," said Budi.

Meanwhile, six private parties who were also examined, said Budi, were employees of a company owned by Mulyono. These private party witnesses were examined regarding the process of submitting restitution from the Taxpayer's side.

"For witnesses from private elements, they are taxpayers and people who are part of the structure of the company owned by MLY. These witnesses explain how the process of submitting restitution from the taxpayer's side, including what the role of the company owned by MLY is," he said.

The KPK is known to have issued three investigation warrants (sprindik) to develop the investigation into alleged bribery of tax restitution management at the Banjarmasin Sub-Tax Service Office (KPP). This process is underway after the hand-in-hand operation (OTT) that ensnared the former Head of the Banjarmasin Sub-Tax Service Office, Mulyono.

The first Sprindik, related to the alleged bribery from the private sector to state organizers.

The second Sprindik concerns targeting alleged acceptance of bribes by state officials. Meanwhile, the last one concerns money laundering (TPPU).

As previously reported, the KPK is investigating allegations of tax management bribes at the Banjarmasin Tax Service Office (KPP), South Kalimantan. This case was revealed after the KPK carried out a hand-in-hand operation (OTT) in February 2026.

Three people are suspects, namely Mulyono as the former Head of the Banjarmasin Sub-KPP; tax employee Dian Jaya Demega (DJD) and Financial Manager of PT Buana Karya Bhakti Venasius Jenarus Genggor (VNZ).

During the press conference for the determination and detention of the suspects, the KPK revealed that this case began with a request for money as a form of appreciation related to the management of the value-added tax (PPN) restitution belonging to PT Buana Karya Bhakti.

The company is known to have filed a VAT refund for the 2024 tax year with a status of overpayment. The value reached IDR 49.47 billion based on the results of the Banjarmasin Deputy KPP inspection.
