Cagub Dharma Pongrekun Concerning Prevention Of Brawl In Jakarta: The Point Is Adab's Problem

JAKARTA - Candidate for Governor of DKI Jakarta Number 2 Dharma Pongrekun stated that the policy of increasing CCTV in every corner of roads in Jakarta is not a solution to prevent the rise of brawls.

"The point is that there is an adaptation problem, if they are good, then there will be no more brawls," Dharma said as quoted by ANTARA, Thursday, October 3.

He said this was because the settlement of brawls that were rampant between school children and even between villages was still downstream.

"Until now, the focus is on downstream problems while there are no improvements upstream problems," said Dharma.

According to him, the most concrete step that must be taken is that parents must be civilized with responsibility for the adaptation of their children.

"Everything must start from home so that children in Jakarta can have an adab. So far, this has not been going on, there are no more pekerti subjects in schools, all just focus on honing the brain and physical rather than the soul," he said.

Children who go home to school and return home are given jobs that can develop their potential in the future.

"If they all work, there will be no more brawls. They are busy working," he said

He admitted that he did not like the efforts to force or arrest or detain the perpetrators of the brawl by the Police.

According to him, these children are victims who are caused by uncivilized policies and have been marginalized so that they are involved in the action.

"They are humans who have lived and defended their lives. They don't know that what they beat is God's creation because they don't have an argument," he said.

He said this would be changed and children in Jakarta would be given adapt knowledge so that they could apply it in their daily lives.

"How can Jakarta become a global city, and they don't have it," he said.

He gave an example of the City of New York, which has all the complete and sophisticated facilities but there are still crimes there.

"Because there really is no order, so there are still crimes in the city that are sophisticated," he said.

Previously, the DKI Jakarta KPU determined three pairs of Candidates for Governor and Deputy Governor in the DKI Jakarta Pilkada which will be held on Wednesday 27 November 2024

The three candidate pairs are Ridwan Kamil-Suswono (RIDO) number 1, Dharma Pongrekun-Kun Wardana (Dharma-Kun) from independent serial number 2, and Pramono Anung-Rano Karno (Pram-Doel) serial number 3.
