Prepare MSMEs to Enter the Supply Chain of the Yellow Land Industrial Estate

TANJUNG SELOR - The North Kalimantan Provincial Government (Pemprov) has prepared micro, small and medium enterprises (UMKM) to be part of the supply chain of the Tanah Kuning-Mangkupadi Industrial Estate in the East Tanjung Palas District, Bulungan Regency. Which is now developing as a National Strategic Project (PSN) area.

The Secretary of the Province of Kaltara, Denny Harianto, said that this step was taken through the Kaltara SINERGI program (Global Industrial Chain Economic Value Integration System for North Kalimantan), which was designed to connect local MSMEs with industrial needs while improving the competitiveness of their products and services.

"We want to ensure that the amount of investment that enters the region can also provide direct benefits for local business actors," said Denny, Wednesday, July 22.

"Don't let the industry grow rapidly, but local business actors only become spectators in their own homes. MSMEs must be part of the industrial supply chain, not just a complement," he continued.

Denny said that the Tanah Kuning-Mangkupadi Industrial Estate, which has an area of approximately 10,100 hectares, is projected to become a new economic growth center with an investment value of tens of trillions of rupiah.

"Therefore, the government considers it necessary to take steps to prepare MSMEs to be able to seize emerging business opportunities," he said.

He explained that the SINERGI Kaltara program is targeted to reach more than 51 thousand MSMEs in Kaltara.

"For this reason, we encourage business actors to meet the standards of industrial needs so that they can become partners in providing goods and services," he explained.

As a preliminary stage, the North Kalimantan Provincial Government has built synergy with PT Kalimantan Industrial Park Indonesia (KIPI). The industrial area manager is said to welcome the Kaltara SINERGI concept and express readiness to open space for the involvement of local MSMEs in the industrial ecosystem.

"MSME products and services will later be curated to be able to meet international industry standards," he said.

He added that the opportunities that can be utilized by MSMEs include the provision of food ingredients, logistics services, supporting materials, to accommodation services for thousands of workers who will operate in the industrial area.

"The Provincial Government hopes that investment growth can go hand in hand with strengthening the people's economy. Thus, the existence of the Tanah Kuning-Mangkupadi Industrial Estate is not only a driving force for investment, but also opens up space for local MSMEs to grow and rise in class," he said.
