A Number Of DPD Members Support As Deputy Chairperson Of The MPR RI, Komeng: I'm Ready

A number of members of the Regional Representative Council (DPD) of the elected Republic of Indonesia for the period 2024-2029 proposed Alfiansyah or better known as Komeng, as Deputy Chair of the People's Consultative Assembly (MPR) from the DPD element. This support came from around 20 elected members of the DPD RI.

Akbar Supratman, a young Senator from Central Sulawesi, explained the main reason for supporting Komeng. According to Akbar, Komeng has good communication skills and is able to create a pleasant atmosphere at every opportunity.

First, the Bang Komeng factor is the way of communication that lightens the atmosphere. We are often burdened with tendentious situations, and Komeng comes with a relaxed but effective communication style," Akbar said in an interview with the media at the Ritz-Carlton Hotel, Mega Kuningan, South Jakarta, Wednesday, September 24 evening.

Akbar added, Komeng is considered to have the potential to strengthen leadership in the MPR RI through solid and inclusive communication. "We see that Komeng is able to maximize leadership communication, which is one of the reasons we encourage him to lead with the MPR RI," Akbar continued.

Support From Various Regions

Akbar said that support for Komeng did not only come from one area. "This support comes from West 1, West 2, East 1, and East 2. So, this is a wide support," he explained.

He also emphasized that this support movement did not intend to precede the process of selecting the leadership of the DPD RI. However, this support came purely from the members of the new DPD who were selected for the 2024-2029 period. This movement is organic, especially from new members, which number around 88 people, "explained Akbar.

Responding to the support, Komeng stated that he was ready if he was chosen for the position of Deputy Chairperson of the MPR RI. I am ready. They are citizens who have the right to vote and be elected. Whether they are ready or not, I leave it to them," said Komeng in his relaxed style.
