Social Service Secures 2 ODGJs That Disturb The Community In Pekanbaru

PekanBARU - Pekanbaru City Social Service, Riau Province, secured two people with mental disorders (ODGJ) in different locations following up on reports from people who claimed to be worried about their whereabouts.

The Head of the Pekanbaru Social Service (Dinsos), Idrus, said that his party through the officers had secured two ODGJs on Jalan Beli Tambusai and Jalan Usaha, Tanjung Rhu Village.

"In the rules, we only reach those who are left behind. However, if it interferes with comfort, our officers will continue to come down to secure the ODGJ concerned," he said in Pekanbaru, Antara, Tuesday, September 24.

The ODGJ was then referred to the Handsome Mental Hospital for psychiatric rehabilitation.

During the rehabilitation period, the Pekanbaru Social Service Office will track down the whereabouts of the ODGJ family and then return it to the family.

In addition to the two locations, previously there were also people who reported the existence of ODGJ which was considered disturbing around Jalan Pepaya and Jalan Durian.

"Our officers went down to the location, but we failed to secure it, because this ODGJ always moves around," he said.

However, his party ensures that it will follow up on every public report regarding the disturbing ODGJ. Moreover, the existence of ODGJ has disturbed the comfort of the community.

His party will deploy a task force to reach the ODGJ reported by the public. In this case, the task force for the outreach of social welfare services is.
