Cak Lontong Says Si Doel's Name Will Be Used In The Pramono-Rano Campaign

JAKARTA - The General Election Commission (KPU) of DKI Jakarta Province invites the candidate for deputy governor Rano Karno to use Si Doel's name in the Jakarta Governor Election (Pilgub) ballot.

The head of the Pramono-Rano Lies Hartono Winning Team, aka Cak Lontong, said that determining the name would make it easier for his team to campaign for the community.

Furthermore, Cak Lontong said that so far Rano Karno has been better known as Si Doel in social life.

"Because indeed from the community it was conveyed that Mr. Haji Rano Karno was more known as Si Doel, and that's what we used later in our campaign series," he said when met at the KPU Office of DKI Jakarta Province, Sunday, September 22.

Cak Lontong said the South Jakarta District Court had also determined that Si Doel and Rano Karno were the names of the same person.

The court's decision has also been accepted by the DKI Jakarta Provincial KPU, so that Si Doel's name can also be included in the ballot.

"I think everything was clear and it was agreed too, witnessed by Bawaslu as well, then from all other candidate pairs that Rano Karno, Haji Rano Karno, and Si Doel, it was declared officially and legally the same person," he explained.

Cak Lontong also said that the use of Si Doel's name was a profitable thing for the Pramono-Rano pair.

"So there is no longer a problem with using the word Si Doel as a representation or replacement for the name Bang Haji Rano Karno, and later on the ballot it will also be written Haji Rano Karno Si Doel," he said.

Previously, it was reported that the Head of the Technical Division for the Implementation of the DKI Jakarta KPU Election, Dody Wijaya, said that his party had announced the results of the repair on September 12, 2024 through an official report, the deputy governor pair on behalf of Haji Rano Karno Sip.

However, continued Dody, on September 18 his party accepted the public's response.

In that response, there were parties who conveyed that Jakarta residents had known Rano Karno better through his role as Si Doel.

Therefore, the public proposes that Si Doel's name be included in the ballot.

"Then we asked to follow up via ID cards and publications in the media including in the socialization props he mentioned Si Doel's name," he explained.

"On this basis, on September 21, we will clarify the political party that proposes then to the candidate pair for deputy governor, on the 21st we were given a copy of the court determination from South Jakarta," he continued.
