Caught Carrying A Machete, Lawyer Rizieq Shihab Alamsyah Is Examined By The Police

JAKARTA - Rizieq Shihab's lawyer, Alamsyah Hanafiah, was questioned today because he was caught carrying sharp weapons, machetes and badik in his car when going to East Jakarta District Court Friday, March 26.

"Today he arrived at the East Jakarta Metro Police and is still being investigated", East Jakarta Police Chief Kombes Erwin Kurniawan told reporters, Wednesday, March 31.

Alamsyah Hanafiah was supposed to be summoned for questioning tomorrow, Thursday, April 1. However, Alamsyah chose to come today to provide information

"It is still in process (examination), we are waiting because the investigation is still ongoing", continued Kombes Erwin.

There are no suspects in the case of machete and badik sharp weapons. The plan was for the police to confront Alamsyah Hanafiah with the driver.

"Later we will confront the driver regarding what use it is for and who are the sharp weapons", said Kombes Erwin.

Previously, Rizieq Shihab's lawyer, Alamsyah Hanafiah, confirmed the possession of a sharp weapon in his car. But Alamsyah emphasized that the sharp weapon was only used to cut mangoes.

"It does exist to cut mangoes, there are sharp weapons", said lawyer Rizieq Shihab, Alamsyah, to reporters, Friday, March 26.
