US Secretary Of State Blinken Visits Egypt, Discusses Negosization Of Gaza's Armistice

JAKARTA - United States (US) Foreign Minister Antony Blinken arrived in Cairo, Egypt, Wednesday, September 18 morning.

The US State Department said Blinken would discuss efforts to negotiate with Egyptian officials for the formation of an agreement between Israel and Hamas.

"He will meet with Egyptian officials on a number of things, but the most important thing on the agenda is how we get a proposal that we think will secure approval from both sides," said US State Department spokesman Matthew Miller, quoted by AFP, Wednesday, September 18.

Blinken is scheduled to meet with Egyptian leader Abdel Fattah El-Sisi. He will also hold a press conference with the Egyptian Foreign Minister (Menlu), Badr Abdelatty.

On his 10th trip to the Middle East since the start of the war in Gaza, Blinken will not visit Israel.

Israel recently announced it had expanded its scope of aggression in addition to Gaza by fighting Hezbollah along the Egyptian border with Lebanon.
