Prepare Emergency Access Impact Of Road 2 Districts In Garut Terdepat, BPBD: For Student Mobilization

The Regional Disaster Management Agency (BPBD) of Garut Regency is preparing an emergency road to respond to the breaking of the main road connecting Peundeuy-Cibalong District.

Head of Garut Regency BPBD Badminton Anwar Saefuloh said this action was so that the community could carry out daily activities safely.

"We will build an emergency road in an important sense that people can pass, access people, motorized vehicles for the mobilization of people, especially school children," he said when contacted by telephone, Sunday, September 15, was confiscated by Antara.

He said that the Garut BPBD had visited areas affected by landslides that eroded the main road in Toblong Village, Peundeuy District, Garut.

The road agency that was eroded by the landslide, he said, was estimated to be 30 meters long, and about 40 meters long with the condition of the road that had cracks, so that two or four-wheeled vehicles could not be crossed.

"The road in Peundeuy that was cut was based on the results of the assessment, it was cut by approximately 30 meters and the cracks were 40 meters long," he said.

He said that the existing alternative roads based on the results of the review were quite risky if four-wheeled vehicles were crossed, so they had to turn around to avoid lanes that were prone to landslides.

Garut BPBD together with the Garut Public Works and Spatial Planning (PUPR) Office, saidmen, have discussed the plan to repair and build roads for temporary public access.

"There must be a construction of a path access to facilitate temporary linkages, later we will be proposed, currently planning for road construction," he said.

He explained that the construction of the emergency road was because to rebuild or repair the road that was eroded by the landslide would last a long time.

The estimated road that must be repaired, he said, is about 100 meters high, then 19 meters high, not to mention there must be a foundation installation, so the time will be long and planned carefully.

"It must be planned really, almost 20 meters down because it cannot be repaired directly, there is no more ground body than a lower footing," he said.

Another alternative solution, he said, was to create a new road, and the construction of the bridge which is thought to take a long time.

Meanwhile, while conducting a study, he said, an emergency road was first made which could only be crossed by people, and motorbikes, while four wheels had to turn around to the Cibalong area.

"It may take a long time to build a road, the important thing is that now there is access to people first, at least motorbikes can pass," he said.

Regarding the condition of the southern route of Garut, said God willing, it is an area prone to landslides, so people must increase their vigilance when passing through that route.

"The area there is prone to landslides because there is also water coming out of the cliffs that have the potential for landslides," he said.
