Riau Prosecutor's Office Stops Investigation Of Pertamina Hulu Rokan Corruption Allegations

PeKANBARU - Riau High Prosecutor's Office (Kejati) has decided to stop investigating the alleged corruption that occurred at PT Pertamina Hulu Rokan (PHR) because it is considered that no unlawful acts were found in the case.

Head of the Legal Information Section (Pentakum) and Public Relations of the Riau Prosecutor's Office, Zikrullah, said the investigation was already in the stage of the Task Order (Sprintug). The team clarified and examined supporting evidence and the prosecutor concluded that they did not continue the investigation to the next stage.

"There was no unlawful act found," he said as quoted by ANTARA, Saturday, September 14.

Zikrullah explained that the conclusion was taken some time ago. The results have also been submitted to the Attorney General's Office

The case was initially reported by DPR member Hinca Ikara Putra Panjaitan by visiting the Riau Prosecutor's Office on Wednesday (26/6).

Hinca himself came to meet the Head of the Riau Attorney General's Office (Kajati) Akmal Abbas and submitted a report related to allegations of corruption and manipulation in the geomembrane tender activities at PT PHR.

The geomembrane project was carried out in 2023 worth Rp. 200 billion. In the auction, it is suspected that there were irregularities that could potentially cause state financial losses, namely due to material receipts that did not match the specifications of PT PHR from PT Total Safety Energy.

The report is known to have been positioned in the Special Crimes Division (Pidsus) of the Riau Prosecutor's Office for review. To strengthen his accusations, Hinca then submitted two bundles of documents to the Riau Prosecutor's Office, as supporting evidence on Friday (19/7) each bundle had 47 and 470 pages.

One of the irregularities is the alleged falsification of documents. This was reinforced by a letter from BRIN which confirmed that it had never published a certain test result report.
