Residents Of Kemayoran Handed Over To The Police After Being Caught Stealing LAA Cable At KM 11+500 Palmerah-Kebayoran Station

The perpetrator of the theft of the Upper Stream Electricity Bonding cable (LAA) located at KM 11+500 Petak Palmerah Station-Kebayoran Station with the initials W (28) was arrested by the security team from PT Kereta Api Indonesia (KAI) Daop 1 Jakarta.

According to Public Relations of PT KAI Operational Area (Daop) 1, Ixfan Hendriwintoko, the incident began when the security team from KAI Daop 1 Jakarta was conducting an apple on Wednesday, September 11, at 22.00 WIB and keeping a predetermined location.

Then, the security team in charge of monitoring the surveillance camera (CCTV) saw that the perpetrator had entered the train lane area. The team then informed the head of the KAI Daop 1 Jakarta Police Team that the target was cutting the bonding cable at KM 11+500.

The head of the KAI Daop 1 Jakarta security team immediately coordinated with a team close to the location of the theft. Perpetrator W was immediately secured at Kebayoran Station at 03.40 WIB by local security officers on duty.

Ixfan said, when questioned by the security team from KAI Daop 1 Jakarta, the perpetrator admitted that he had committed similar theft twice.

First, the perpetrator committed theft on the road plots of the Kebayoran-Palmerah Station on September 2, 2024. While the second was in the plot of Jalan Krenceng KM 137+6 on August 29, 2024.

The perpetrator is known as a resident of Kemayoran, Central Jakarta and has now been handed over to the Kebayoran Lama Police along with the evidence.

"The perpetrator has been handed over to the Kebayoran Baru Police by the security team from KAI Daop 1 Jakarta at 13.10 WIB for further legal proceedings," he said.

Meanwhile, the evidence included in the form of a bonding cable LAA approximately 1.5 meters, a cut tang, a mask and a hat.
