KPK Investigate Kaesang And Bobby Nasution's Private Jet Facilities Secretly

JAKARTA - The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) said that the investigation into the use of private jets by Kaesang Pangarep and Bobby Nasution was carried out behind closed doors.

This is because the review process by the Directorate of Service Revenue and Public Complaints (PLPM) aims to find allegations of unlawful acts.

"So it cannot be opened transparently to friends because there are things that are covered or closed and this also continues (if, ed) until (stage, red) the investigation," said KPK Spokesperson Tessa Mahardika to reporters quoted on Thursday, September 12.

Tessa said this process was not without reason that it had to be carried out behind closed doors. The KPK just wants the evidence they get is enough.

Even so, he ensured that the investigation into the alleged use of private jet facilities by the family of President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) would continue. "If there is a data shortage, of course, PLPM employees or staff will convey to the reporter to ask for supporting data and other actions," said the spokesman with the investigator's background.

Previously reported, the KPK had received two complaints about the use of private jets by the Chairman of the Indonesian Solidarity Party (PSI) who is also the son of President Joko Widodo (Jokowi), Kaesang Pangarep. Those who complained were the Indonesian Anti-Corruption Society (MAKI) and lecturers at the Jakarta State University (UNJ) Ubaidillah Badrun.

In its report, the Coordinator of the Indonesian Anti-Corruption Society (MAKI) Boyamin Saiman conveyed that an MoU for cooperation between the Solo City Government and PT Shopee Indonesia International was related to the development of MSMEs. He suspects that the jet aircraft used by Kaesang and his wife, Erina Gudono, was facilitated by the company.

Meanwhile, a lecturer at the Jakarta State University (UNJ), Ubaidillah Badrun, reported Kaesang's luxurious lifestyle with his wife who used a private jet to the United States.

As for Bobby Nasution, the KPK closed a meeting about incoming reporting. However, the Mayor of Medan is also suspected of using a private jet after his photo was spread on social media X.
