TPS Container Flow Reaches 1.5 Million TEUs In 2024

JAKARTA - PT Terminal Petikes Surabaya (TPS), which is a subsidiary of PT Pelindo Terminal Petikes, has succeeded in making a new history with the achievement of a container flow or athroughput of more than 1.5 million TEUs in 2024.

"This achievement will be a new milestone in the course of a quarter of a century of polling stations," said TPS President Director Wahyu Widodo quoting Antara.

Wahyu explained that this achievement was the result of comprehensive work program planning, consistent monitoring and coordination between units at the TPS.

He explained that the basic foundation begins with strengthening human resources (HR) as the main driver of the company's business wheels, including through certification so as to create competent personnel.

Some certification programs in 2024 include BNSP certification for Sea Transportation Handling and Handling of Hazardous Goods or the International Maritime Dangerous Goods Code (IMDG Code).

In addition, training and certification in the field of K3 and Risk Management as well as certification of Energy and Digitalization Management and Internal Auditors.

Not only strengthening human resources, the provision of facilities in the form of workspace and adequate work equipment is carried out by inaugurating a new Planning and Control room.

Planning and optimizing mature resources as well as monitoring the process of service activities ranging from gate, field to dock area is also an important step to ensure service guarantees.

The development of services for customers is one of the program's priorities in 2024, which, among other things, was realized by the launch of the Garaman Crude Skin Fumigation and Examination Service.

The standardization of the system for supporting services is carried out by implementing the SAP-based Single Enterprise Resources Planning (ERP) starting July 1, 2024.

ERP is a single platform that supports various non-operational services such as Finance Accounting (FI), Controlling & Budgeting, as well as Human Capital Management (HCM) and Purchasing.

Furthermore, TPS applies the electrification of the port's main equipment to reduce carbon emissions including on Container Crane (CC) equipment.

TPS as well as making efforts to convert the use of diesel fuel into the use of electric power for 22 units of Rubber Tyred Gantry (RTG) which are targeted for completion by 2025.

The TPS step to transform into a green port is also strengthened by the expansion of the port green area, namely supporting the existence of mangrove forests for the absorption of carbon emissions.
