Only Have 1 Seat, PPP And Perindo Join Other Parties In The DKI DPRD

JAKARTA - The DKI Jakarta DPRD is still formulating the council (AKD) equipment for the 2024-2029 term of office. Of the 11 political parties in the DKI DPRD, there are 2 parties that only have 1 seat each, namely the United Development Party (PPP) and the Perindo Party.

The chairman of the DKI DPRD, Achmad Yani, said that PPP and Perindo would join other parties in forming their factions.

The plan is that PPP will join the National Awakening Party (PKB) and Perindo will be merged with the Democratic Party.

"So it's true that the party seats a little, they can't form their own factions. They have to follow the existing factions. Perindo has one seat, no. So he went to the Democrats. Likewise, PPP has only one seat, so there is a PKB faction. Maybe later come to PKB," said Yani at the DKI Jakarta DPRD Building, Wednesday, September 11.

Yani said that the determination of the merger of party factions in the DPRD would be decided on September 17, as well as establishing the preparation of other AKDs.

Among them are setting five leaders of the DKI Jakarta DPRD consisting of one chairman and four deputy chairmen. As the winning party for the 2024 Pilleg in the Jakarta DPRD, PKS gets a share as chairman of the DPRD.

Meanwhile, the positions of Deputy Chairperson of the DKI DPRD were obtained by the PDI-P (PDIP), Gerindra, NasDem, and Golkar, respectively.

"For the chairman and vice chairman, now we have also submitted a letter to each party to propose candidates for leadership," said Yani.

"Well, after the names come in, we will immediately process them. We will have a plenary meeting. We will announce the results of the plenary meeting, later we will convey it to the Ministry of Home Affairs," he continued.

In addition, it will also be determined that the composition of the DPRD commissions, the DPRD Deliberative Body, the DPRD Budget Agency, and the DPRD Honorary Board will also be determined.

For information, there are 11 political parties that get seats in the DKI Jakarta DPRD. Of the total 106 seats, PKS gets 18 seats, PDIP 15 seats, Gerindra 15 seats, NasDem 10 seats, Golkar 10 seats, PKB 10 seats, PAN 10 seats, Democrat 9 seats, PSI 8 seats, PPP 1 seat, and Perindo 1 seat.

For the time being, the DPRD has appointed Achmad Yani from the PKS faction to be interim chairman and Jhonny Simanjuntak from the PDIP faction to become deputy chairman.
