Remind Cagub-Cawagub Jakarta, Heru Calls Flood Management Must Continue

JAKARTA - Acting Governor of DKI Jakarta Heru Budi Hartono reminded that the flood control program must be continued by the candidates for Governor-Deputy Governor of Jakarta who won the 2024 Pilkada.

"Jakarta, one of the homeworks that must be carried out in the future, including that I continue to carry out, the program is flood prevention," said Heru at the Tarakan Hospital, Central Jakarta, Wednesday, September 11.

In the flood control program, Heru emphasized that he was also continuing the normalization development of the Ciliwung River which had stalled for several years.

During his leadership, the DKI Provincial Government completed the land acquisition process in a number of fields. Then, the central government through the Ministry of PUPR began to widen the river and build the embankment.

"Like the one in Rawajati, it has been processed, almost finished payments. Physically, it has even been done by the Ministry of PUPR together with the SDA service," said Heru.

In addition, the government is also planning the construction of coastal embankments and sea embankments (Giant Sea Wall) to prevent sea water from entering the mainland or tidal flooding.

Likewise with the revitalization or rejuvenation of clean water pipes, which according to Heru must be done.

"I started last year and this year, I can reach 6000 kilometers of pipes, both primary and secondary. This must be continued," said Heru.

"The next third is overcoming congestion. The fourth is health problems, infrastructure care. The fifth is a bit difficult, PR is transportation, congestion, pollution," he concluded.
