Nusron Wahid Rejects The Proposal Of The DPR's Hajj Special Committee To Involve The KPK

JAKARTA - The chairman of the House of Representatives' Hajj Special Committee, Nusron Wahid, firmly rejected the proposal of one of the members, Marwan Jafar, who wanted KPK investigators to accompany the special committee's work.

According to Nusron, the parties presented at the Hajj Special Committee meeting have worked according to their respective duties, principal, and functions.

"You don't have to be accompanied by Mr. Marwan. They have worked according to their respective duties and responsibilities," said Nusron during a meeting with the Directorate of Domestic Hajj Services, Special Hajj Development and Head of Sub-Directorate Data and Siskohat at the DPR RI building, parliament complex, Senayan, Jakarta, last Monday.

"I propose that in this special committee, accompanied by the KPK because I think the KPK knows a lot about this, even though they are silent. Secretly also know a lot of the data," said Marwan during the Hajj Special Committee meeting.

Marwan suspects that there is intervention from certain parties against special Hajj pilgrims. He thought that the steps taken by the Ministry of Religion were suspected of violating the law.

Moreover, he said, the DPR RI Hajj Special Committee had confirmed this to the special, regular and additional Hajj quota verifiers. However, do not know the parties who intervened in the special Hajj pilgrims who had just registered and departed this year.

"We ask and we confirm, they don't all know, it's all hands from above, it means, this, right, there is intervention," said Marwan.

Marwan also explained that the alleged form of intervention was in the form of a policy by abusing authority or abuse of power. If this happens, said Marwan, then it should be suspected that there has been a practice of corruption in the form of gratification.

"Therefore, I ask that this special committee deepen not only criminal acts to violate the law, but also criminal acts in the context of gratification", concluded Marwan.Nusron emphasized that this was in response to Marwan Jafar's proposal to encourage the KPK to be involved in the 2024 Hajj Special Committee meeting. The reason, said Marwan, is that the KPK has a lot of data regarding the 2024 hajj fraud, although so far it has only been silent.
