Police Arrested Motorcycle Robbers In Bekasi

JAKARTA - The police arrested a gang of robbers who robbed a motorbike belonging to a retired TNI with the initials G (60) on Jalan Mandor Demong, Mustika Sari Village, Mustika Jaya, Bekasi City on Monday, September 9, at 02.30 WIB.

Head of Public Relations of Polda Metro Jaya Kombes Ade Ary Syam Indradi said the two perpetrators had the initials WW and SRA.

Ade Ary explained that the perpetrators shared roles to launch their actions. He said that WW actors acted as executors who threatened and took the victim's motorbike, while SRA served as jockeys who grabbed the victim's motorbike while crossing the crime scene (TKP).

"The victims were grabbed by the perpetrators with two motorized vehicles riding together. They were grabbed and fell," he said.

When the victim had fallen from his motorbike, the perpetrators immediately took advantage of the situation by taking the victim's motorbike.

"Then threatened the victim with a sickle and finally his motorbike was taken. (The victim) was injured because he fell," he said.

After the incident, the victim reported the incident to the police. The police who received information immediately gave chase until they were finally arrested.

"The evidence that was secured by Honda Scoopy belonged to the perpetrator, then the perpetrator's clothes, sweaters, helmets belonging to the perpetrator and a sharp weapon," he said.

Currently WW and SRA are charged with Article 365 of the Criminal Code concerning theft with violence (curas). Both face a maximum sentence of 9 years in prison.
