JAKARTA - The National SAR Agency (Basarnas) team evacuated the truck driver who entered a ravine after the vehicle he was driving experienced a failed brake on the Seunapet derivative, Aceh Besar District.

Head of Banda Aceh Basarnas Ibnu Harris Al Hussain in Banda Aceh, Sunday, said the victim was on behalf of M Nurdin (65), a resident of Gampong Nibong, Syamtalira Bayu District, North Aceh Regency.

"The victim was evacuated dead. The victim was caught after the truck he was driving entered a ravine in the Seunapet derivative, Suka Damai Village, Lembah Seulawah District, Aceh Besar District," Ibnu said, quoting Antara, Sunday, September 8.

Previously, said Ibnu, the Banda Aceh Basarnas Office received information from personnel from the Seulawah Valley Police regarding the traffic accident of a truck loaded with fertilizer on the Seunapet derivative, Sunday, September 8, at around 11.00 WIB.

"The information stated that the truck entered a ravine allegedly because the brakes failed. The truck hit the metal fence that divides the road until it finally fell into a ravine. The victim, who is also the truck driver, was reportedly caught," he said.

Furthermore, Basarnas formed a team and dispatched to the scene to evacuate victims. The evacuation was successfully carried out with the condition of the victim's death.

Selanjutnya, korban dibawa ke Puskesmas Saree, Kabupaten Aceh Besar, guna penanganan lebih lanjut. Cuaca saat proses evakuasi dalam keadaan berawan, kata Ibnu Harris Al Hussain.

"The SAR operation was an accident with special handling involving members of the police, TNI, and the community. By completing the evacuation of the victims, the personnel involved were returned to their respective agencies," said Ibnu Harris Al Hussain.
