Based on Law Number 22 of 2009 concerning Road Traffic and Transportation Article 106 paragraph (4), motorists who stop carelessly under flyovers or on the side of the road when it rains can be fined up to IDR 250 thousand or imprisonment for one month.

"There are still many motorcyclists who suddenly turn to take shelter on the side of the road when it rains. The habit of not bringing raincoats is not only detrimental to other road users, but also very dangerous," said Head of Safety Riding Promotion of PT Wahana Makmur Sejati (WMS), Agus Sani, in an official statement received on Tuesday, November 26.

To avoid traffic disruptions, Agus Sani advises motorists to choose a safe place to stop if they want to wear raincoats. Locations such as office areas, shops, or shophouses with minimal traffic activity can be the best option. This step ensures that you do not disturb other road users and minimize the risk of accidents.

"In the rainy season, motorcyclists should be more vigilant because road conditions tend to be difficult to predict. Stay away from the highway, even if it's just to wear raincoats. This may seem trivial, but it's very important for safety," he added.

In addition, motorcyclists also need to pay attention to speed and maintain a safe distance when driving in the rain. slippery roads, puddles, or even holes covered by floods can be a serious threat. Therefore, always be alert and drive with care.
