SMKN 4 Semarang Speaks Up: Police Shooting Victim Is A Paskibra Member

SEMARANG SMKN 4 Semarang has not been able to confirm the truth of the information related to the shooting of one of its students, Gamma Rizkynata Oktafandy (17), who died during the brawl incident. Deputy Head of Student Affairs of SMKN 4, Agus Riswantini, stated that Gamma and two other students who were injured were active members of Paskibra and had never been involved in a brawl before.

"Incidentally they are selected students, Paskibra members. The three of them have never been recorded as involved in a brawl," said Agus. Even so, he admitted that the school had no control over events that took place outside the school environment.

Semarang Police are currently investigating the incident that occurred in West Semarang in the early hours of Sunday. The incident involved members of the Semarang Police Narcotics Unit who shot Gamma while trying to break up a brawl between gangs.

Semarang Police Chief, Kombes Irwan Anwar, explained that that that night there were three brawls in Gayamsari, North Semarang, and West Semarang Districts. In the incident in West Semarang, the victim Gamma, with the initials GRO (17), became one of the parties involved.

The incident began when police officers passed at the location of the brawl between the Seroja gang and the Pojok Embankment gang. The police who tried to intervene were attacked, until they finally took firm action which resulted in the victim being shot," explained Kombes Irwan.

The Semarang Police Internal Security (Paminal) is also investigating the police officers involved in the incident. On the other hand, investigations into the perpetrators of brawls in other locations are still ongoing.

Meanwhile, two people have been named as suspects in the brawl case in Gayamsari, while the perpetrators in North Semarang are still being chased.

This incident is in the spotlight, especially because of the involvement of students who are known to excel. SMKN 4 Semarang hopes that the investigation can immediately provide clarity on this case.
