JAKARTA - Former Deputy Governor of Jakarta, Sandiaga Uno congratulated the Jakarta governor candidates who will fight in the 2024 Pilkada. Sandiaga advised the cagub not only to think about flooding and congestion as Jakarta's main problem, but also to pay attention to the increasingly expensive cost of living of the people of Jakarta. "I congratulate the current candidates for regional heads of DKJ province, Jakarta Special Region. And this is very good because the transition from the capital city to a global international competitive city," Sandiaga said at the Parliament Complex, Senayan, Jakarta, Friday, September 6. "The two main things in my opinion are the focus. Usually the thought is to overcome floods and congestion. But what should not be forgotten is how the cost of living for people in Jakarta is getting more expensive," continued the Minister of Economic and Creative Tourism (Menparekraf). According to Sandiaga, health costs, education costs, transportation costs, and daily shopping costs and food prices in Jakarta have increased significantly. Therefore, Sandi assessed that the Jakarta cagub and cawagub must also create jobs in cities that will hold the status of this economic center. "And second, employment. Because this is the capital moving, I hope there will be special emphasis on job creation and that should be the empowerment of MSMEs. Because MSMEs create 97 percent of our employment opportunities," said the originator of the Oke Oce jargon.

Even so, the PPP politician believes that the cagubs, namely Ridwan Kamil, Pramono Anung and Dharma Pongrekun, can collide with ideas and win the hearts of Jakarta residents. "But I am optimistic that these candidates will later collide with ideas and try to win the hearts and minds of the citizens of Jakarta," concluded Sandiaga.
