Pope Francis' Complete Schedule In Indonesia September 3-6, Mass Of Kudus To Visit Istiqlal Mosque

JAKARTA - Pope Francis' Supreme Leader of the Catholic Church will have an apolytholic trip to Indonesia, Papua New Guinea, Timor Leste, and Singapore from September 2 to 13, 2024.

Indonesia will be the first country Pope Francis visited in this series of trips to Asia and the Pacific, from 3 to 6 September 2024.

Pope Francis' visit to Indonesia is the third time for a whale. Previously, Pope Santo Paulus VI visited December 3-4, 1970, followed by Pope Santo John Paul II on October 9-14, 1989. After 35 years, the pope returned to visit Indonesia in a series of Pope Francis' apotheists journey.

Despite the limited health and age conditions, Pope Francis remains willing to meet in person with his people, show his love and strengthen and strengthen their faith.

Pope Francis' visit to Indonesia will have the theme "Iman, Brotherhood, and Flavor Defense".

Chairman of the Indonesian Bishops' Conference (KWI), Mgr Antonius Subianto Bunjamin OSC expressed the gratitude and joy of the Indonesian Church in welcoming the arrival of Pope Francis.

"KWI is working with Nunsius Apotolic of the Vatican's Holy Throne for Indonesia to form a committee in April 2024 and has prepared everything until now," Antonius said in a statement obtained by Beritassatu.com.

During his visit, Pope Francis as the head of the Vatican State will make a state visit to the State Palace and meet President Jokowi. The Pope is also scheduled to visit the Jakarta Cathedral Church and the Istiqlal Mosque, as well as carry out several other activities.

The Indonesian Church is also preparing to celebrate Ekaristi at the Gelora Bung Karno Stadium (GBK) on September 5, 2024, which will be attended by Catholics from various regions. The priests will act as consumers and assist in the distribution of communication.

The Ekaristi celebration at GBK is one of Pope Francis' agendas that will involve many people. The committee appealed to all people present to follow the committee's advice and recommendations for the smooth running of the event. People who do not get a place in GBK are expected to take part in the event via television broadcast or YouTube.

Chairman of the Organizing Committee for the Pope's Visit to Indonesia, Ignasius Jonan, stated that until now the whale's travel agenda remains in line with the plan. The committee has made preparations at each event location and coordinated with various sectors to ensure Pope Francis' adatory visit runs smoothly.

After leaving Indonesia, Pope Francis will continue his journey to Port Moresby (Papua New Guinea) and Vanimo from September 6 to 9, 2024, Dili (Timor Leste) from September 9 to 11, 2024, and Singapore from September 11 to 13, 2024.
